Capt. Luke Jacobs, Marine Attack Squadron 513 pilot, vertically lands an AV-8B Harrier at Auxiliary Airfield 2 on the Barry M. Goldwater Range in Arizona May 20, 2010. The Nightmares used the airfield, which simulates a ship’s landing deck, to get their aircraft carrier landing qualification before their support of Exercise Dawn Blitz aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard May 24-28, 2010. The exercise is held to provide a training scenario that includes naval, aviation and ground elements all at once. While participating in the exercise, the Nightmares will provide close-air support for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.
