MISSION
Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron is responsible for the day-to-day operations on the air station, to keep it running, as well as a small community within the community. Approximately 800 Marines and Sailors are assigned to the squadron. With assistance from roughly 1,200 civilians who work on MCAS Yuma, they work to keep the station operational through the efforts of a variety of departments.

 S-1 Administration

The mission of S-1 is to provide the Marines of H&HS with the highest quality and timely administrative support in the Marine Corps. The S-1 is the primary functional area managers for any administrative action for all Marines either PCS, FAP or TAD to H&HS. Among the many areas of support are legal, fitness reports, administrative action forms and the administration of Marine On Line (MOL).

 S-3 Training

The H&HS training (S-3) section is responsible for coordinating various annual training requirements for the Marines and sailors of the squadron.

 H&HS Academy
Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron Academy section administers the highest quality command-sponsored Enlisted Professional Military Education aboard the air station.

Both Marines and soldiers have graduated from TECOM’s Command Sponsored Corporals Course.

HHSA also provides the Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron developed Lance Corporals Course focusing on morals, ethics, values and discernment.

HHSA Command Screening Checklists are available below along with Class Announcements. Student nominations are only accepted when coming from parent command S-3 representatives.

Students reporting to HHSA schools must be familiar with the course prerequisites, command screening checklists and class announcement information.

 Career Planner

The primary mission of the Career Retention Specialist Section is to reenlist qualified first-term Marines to meet career force MOS requirements.

The Career Planner also assists in disseminating information and procedures for officer and special duty selection boards.
