Tyler Giersch, aircraft rescue and firefighting truck operator, on the flight line at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz., during a 2010 Yuma Air Show preview for local schoolchildren March 26, 2010. The station opened its gates to approximately 200 local students and schoolteachers so they could talk to Marines and catch a sneak peek of the aircraft, such as the Pitts S-2B and F-16 Fighting Falcon. “The best part was seeing the planes take off,” said Tim Silva, Gila Vista Junior High School student. “I’ve never been so close to a jet before.”
