Sep 26, 1959

Approximately 10 months after the Marine Corps took over what was Vincent Air Force Base, a sign for Vincent Field remains on the main gate of the Marine Auxiliary Air Station Yuma on Sept. 26, 1959. The station dropped the word "auxiliary" on July 20, 1962. One of the first four Marines assigned to the air station in 1958 as part of the transition team, Reg Garavito, returned to Yuma Jan. 12, 2010, and donated the photo to the station.
