Maj. Gen. John M. Croley, commanding general of the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, speaks with the vice chairman of the Havasupai tribal council, Matthew Putesoy Sr., during a visit Dec. 15, 2009, to the village of Supai, Ariz., located within the Grand Canyon. For 14 years, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 764, a reserve unit within 4th MAW, airlifted donated Christmas gifts to the tribe's children as part of the Toys for Tots program. Besides airlift, the only way to reach the village is via an eight-mile foot trail. The squadron is based at Edwards Air Force Base north of Los Angeles.
