Pilots from the Yuma-based Marine Attack Squadron 513 land AV-8B Harriers on the deck of the USS Bonhomme Richard afloat in the Pacific Ocean Sept. 28, 2009. A detachment from VMA-513 joined the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit for an estimated six-month deployment in the western Pacific. The ship set sail from San Diego Sept. 24, 2009, six days later than expected due to repairs. Members of VMA-513 are also serving with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, currently providing humanitarian assistance in the Philippines after a deadly tropical storm struck the region.
