Station commanding officer, Col. Mark Werth, practices his aim on the recently improved rifle range Aug. 28, 2009, on the Barry M. Goldwater Range southeast of the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz., before firing the ceremonial first shot to reopen it. The station's rifle range closed in July for renovations. Shooters can expect to see new firing positions with rubber matting and new target number signs.
