Wearing white leather gauntlets, Master Gunnery Sgt. Mark Miller, drum major for the U.S. Marine Corps' Drum and Bugle Corps, holds the ceremonial mace used to signal commands to musicians during a performance Feb. 24, 2009, at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz. The performance marked the beginning of the band's annual tour. For approximately the last 20 years, the Drum and Bugle Corps' has trained annually in Yuma before beginning touring. Miller, the 20th drum major of "The Commandant's Own," is a native of Salisbury, Md.
