Sgt. Jared Leiss, a squad leader with 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, shows his squad's number for the pilot of an MV-22 Osprey who picked up the Marines at during an air assault exercise, April 13, 2009, in a training area east of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz. The Quincy, Ohio, native and his squad of approximately 10 Marines were transported to a landing zone in the Blue Mountain Airfield for a live-fire exercise and to secure the airfield. The Camp Lejeune, N.C., battalion is scheduled to conclude their training in Yuma with a battalion-sized helicopter-borne assault exercise in late April, the largest exercise of its type conducted in approximately 10 years.
