MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA, Ariz. (May 1, 2019) – Years of dedicated service has not gone unnoticed when it comes to Michael R. Batson Fire Chief Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. In April 2019, Chief Batson was recognized for his 25 years of service to the Marine Corps. Chief Batson was enlisted in the Marine Corps for 4 years spending 3 of them at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma with Air Traffic control. In his daily tasks he is responsible for operations, which include the firefighters, vehicles, technical, HAZMAT, and medical emergencies. When asked about what has kept him going all of the years his response was simple “I enjoy working with and working for Marines, I would much rather prefer to work here than anywhere else”.
