After serving at sea with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Peleliu, Marine Attack Squadron 311 Staff Sergeant Douglas Bridges reunites with his wife and children in the VMA-311 Hangar aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, May 13. Bridges, an Atlanta, GA native and VMA-311 airframes mechanic, served alongside approximately 2,400 Marines and Sailors and deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group. This group provides a forward-deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force capable of conducting a wide variety of operations ranging from humanitarian aid to combat.
