Paxton, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma's Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron, leads non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in a hike during “Operation Backbone" in Yuma, Arizona, Oct. 25, 2019. Operation Backbone helps to strengthen the warrior spirit in NCOs and promote cohesion between the different units of MCAS Yuma. The exercise consisted of a five and a half mile hike, several classes, and closed with a warriors night dinner. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma’s Search and Rescue (SAR) team simulates a rescue during "Operation Backbone" in Yuma, Arizona, Oct. 25, 2019. Operation Backbone helps to strengthen the warrior spirit in non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and promote cohesion between the different units of MCAS Yuma. The exercise consisted of a five and a half mile hike with the Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) commanding officer and sergeant major, several classes, and a warriors night dinner.
