Military policeman Lance Cpl. Ian Wright helps a Base Services Department maintenance mechanic fill out an accident report after the mechanic drove his vehicle into a retention basin hidden by flood water on the corner of Shaw Avenue and Quilter Street at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz., Jan. 21, 2010. Yuma was hit by a storm that dumped more than 2 inches of rain, causing flooding throughout the air station. The BSD workers pumped out the excess water to another retention basin that runs along Avenue 3E. Approximately 4.7 million gallons of water were pumped off streets and parking lots on station, according to Jerry Deppen, station facilities maintenance manager.
