Lance Cpl. Charles M. Gardner shows the hole in his glove he received after a motorcycle accident Feb. 3, 2009, near the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz. While the glove was shredded, his palm was not affected. Gardner, an air traffic control equipment maintainer at the air station, suffered only minor injuries when he laid down his Yamaha FZ6 sport bike to avoid a collision with a car that veered into his lane. Gardner, 21, is a native of Houston. (Photo by Gunnery Sgt. Bill Lisbon)
